Grandma Lucy

A Legacy of Love

Coffee, in my house, holds a deeper significance than just a beverage; it symbolizes a cherished tradition that brings us together to share personal anecdotes, discuss current events, and create lasting memories with one another. Whether we are surrounded by family or friends, coffee always creates a sense of community. It's no wonder why it’s universally adored.

Fueled by my love for coffee, I founded the company with the primary objective of acquainting people with the exceptional taste of Armenian coffee. My ultimate aim is to offer a novel experience that inspires individuals to develop an appreciation for this unique coffee and create their own unforgettable memories while sharing it with others.

Although we all appreciate coffee, my grandmother was a genuine coffee connoisseur. She enjoyed it so much that she consumed 7 to 8 cups every day and lived to the impressive age of 92. Let's raise a cup to the original Lucy!

The origins of coffee in Armenia date back hundreds of years. Coffee came from Arabia (today’s Turkey) and then to Armenia. Armenian merchants loved coffee so much that they opened the first coffee houses in Europe. It was a time for social gatherings and shared community. Even today, entertaining guests with coffee is integral to Armenian culture.

In Armenian culture, coffee isn’t just a drink; it’s an experience steeped in tradition and ritual. The preparation of Armenian coffee is a slow and intentional process whereby the coffee is brewed in a small copper pot called a "jezve” and heated over a stove or open flame. It is then served in small cups and enjoyed with pastries.
